Torrential rains caused flooding across Spain

Torrential rains have swept across Spain on Sunday. The emergency services have responded to thousands of warnings.

Storms have caused damaged roads and landslides and mud to slide onto Spanish roads, while many vehicles have struggled to move in heavily flooded areas. Rail transport was interrupted between Madrid and southern Spain due to flooding on many tracks. More than 200 litres per square metre fell, causing severe flooding in Alcanar, Tarragona.
