Torrential rain caused severe flooding in Okinawa prefecture on Friday. Water was overflowing in various parts of the city. Naha City had 94.5 millimeters of rainfall. That’s a record hourly rainfall for June, exceeding the previous record set 100 years ago.

Information about the record-breaking deluge has been issued to a number of areas in Okinawa Prefecture. According to the radar analysis, the areas near Tomi-gusuku City and Itoman City experienced about 110 millimeters of rain.
