Top EU diplomat announces new EU-Philippine security defence dialogue

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced the launch of a new EU-Philippines security and defence dialogue during her visit to Manila.

Kaja Kallas, European Union's diplomatic chief said "Today we announce the establishment of new EU-Philippine security and defence dialogue. This will be a dedicated platform through which we can deepen our cooperation, exchange expertise on security and defence and explore joint initiatives that contribute to the regional, as well as global security."

The platform is designed to support collaboration on areas including maritime security, cybersecurity, and information resilience. The new dialogue also includes the exchange of expertise in defence policy and aims to enhance coordination on regional developments, including the situation in the South China Sea.
