






The opening ceremony of the 77th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination was held at the Wizaya Mingala Dhamma Thabin Hall on Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon on Tuesday.
The event was attended by the Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Ovadacariya led by the Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtama Pyan Sarthintaik Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Sandhima Bhivamsa ,Sayadaws of Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Board, Tipitaka Pucchaka Sayadaws, supervisory Sayadaws, members of Sangha, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Yangon Region Government Ministers, other concerned officials and well-wishers.
First, the congregation received the Five Precepts from Vice Chairman of Ovadacariya of Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection examination board Presiding Sayadaw of Moegaung Monastery, Hinthada Township, Bhaddanta Suddhamasara Bhivamsa. Afterthat, the Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee delivered an Ovadakatha , followed by a supplication of religious matters by the Union Minister.
The Yangon Region Government then donated over 90 million kyats in cash to the Sayadaws of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Sayadaws of the Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Board, Tipitaka Pucchaka Sayadaws, supervisory Sayadaws and examinees and the Union Minister, Region Government Ministers and officials accepted the donation and returned the certificate of honor.
Next, the Union Minister and wife donated Ahtakatha treatises to Sayadaws of the Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Board and supervisory Sayadaws. After that, the congregation listened to the sermon delivered by Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and shared the merits they gained.The Union Minister and the congregation then offered a day meal, donated by the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, to the members of Sangha.
In the afternoon, Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin, accompanied by officials visited the Kaba Aye Printing House in Mayangone Township to inspect the printing process of treatises.
The Union Minister instructed that, with the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee's approval, the Kaba Aye Printing House should print and distribute high-quality books for the members of Sangha. He emphasized meeting publication targets, maintaining readiness of printing equipment and ensuring timely execution of religious ceremonies and examination matters.
