Thunderstorms and Heatwaves in Morocco

In parallel with the rise in temperatures, a group of Moroccan cities witnessed heavy thunderstorms Thursday.

These are the precipitations that were the subject of an orange alert level warning. These conditions have continued since Thursday, as Morocco is witnessing a rise in temperatures with unstable clouds forming in the Atlas highlands and neighboring plains.

The communications officer at the General Directorate of Meteorologysaid the formation of these unstable clouds is due to several factors, including the variation in temperatures between the layers of the atmosphere, as the lower layers were characterized by high temperatures, especially in the south and center of the country.
