Thousands welcome Serbia basketball team, Djokovic in Belgrade

Thousands of people gather in the Serbian capital to welcome the national basketball team, the World Cup silver medalist, and tennis star Novak Djokovic who won his record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open.

All of Djokovic’s triumphs have come during the Open era, which began in 1968, when professional players were admitted to the sport’s four most prestigious tournaments.
