Thousands in anti-abortion march in Mexico City

Anti-abortion supporters marched through Mexico City on Sunday in a protest which had been called "in favour of women." The Un Dia Por Todays organization claimed that at least one million people had attended similar marches in 31 states. It was the second consecutive year that the march in the country's capital had taken place.

Organisation spokesperson Alison Gonzalez said that the protest was held "as a result of the unconformity of so many Mexicans to live in a situation where we do not really breathe peace, we do not breathe an environment that can promote the human life of all Mexicans." Last year's protest took place after abortions of up to 12 weeks were decriminalized in at least 10 states.
