Thingyan in Sittwe :Locals enjoyed Akyat Day of Thingyan Festival

Chief Minister of Rakhine State U Htein Lin and wife, together with the state ministers and officers, visited water pandals in Sittwe on Saturday. At the pandal of the Ministry of Health, they enjoyed the performances of Thingyan songs and dances, and took part in splashing water.

The Chief Minister and wife also presented honorary cash awards to the dance troupes. They later visited the water pandals of State General Administrative Department, Basic Education Department and Mayu Market.

They enjoyed the entertainment programs by the dance troupes and vocalists, and presented cash awards. The Chief Minister and party also viewed the residents in Sittwe, enjoying water festival. On the Akyat Day of Thingyan, revellers were crowded at the downtown roads in Sittwe.
