Thingyan A-Kyat Day in Taunggyi: Shan State CM and wife attended the festival

In the year 1386 of the Myanmar calendar, the traditional Myanmar Maha Thingyan water festival as the peaceful and joyful Thingyan, and the walking Thingyan this year is being held in accordance with traditional culture. The traditional Myanmar Mahathingyan festival is being conducted in line with Myanmar customs, manners, and traditional cultural traditions on April 15th, the A-Kyat Day or the eclipse Day of Thingyan, from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 3 PM to 5 PM in Taunggyi, Shan State (South) on the Yone-Gyi Road, featuring water festival activities, walking thingyan, and offering charity foods.

On 15th April, the A-Kyat day or the eclipse Day of Thingyan, the Shan State government, led by the Chief Minister U Aung Aung and his wife, along with other state ministers and their spouses, the state government's secretary and wife, as well as officials from state, district, and township levels, sprinkled water for the Thingyan festival in accordance with Myanmar traditional customs using the sprigs of Eugenia. They also observed the Satudithar pavilions where the charity foods are offered, and they watched a applying thanaka paste in efforts to have it included as an intangible cultural world heritage list of humanity. Participants in the traditional Myanmar Thingyan water festival were sprinkled with water using the sprigs of Eugenia, it’s reported.
