Thingyan Holiday: Over 230,000 visitors visited during Thingyan Holiday

Regarding to the tourism sector during Thingyan Festival, there are over 230,000 visitors entrance to the landmarks of Myanmar such as Bagan, Chaung Thar, Ngwe Saung, Nga Pali, Pyin Oo Lwin, Taung Gyi, Kalaw and Inlay. As the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is implementing to promote tourism industry, to provide better services and safety of the visitors by cooperating with the concerned departmental officials in related regions and states.  

Dy DG, Aung Aye Han, Directorate of Hotels & Tourism said “The Directorate of Hotels and Tourism only collected the lists of visitors who visited by staying hotels or guest houses according to the regions and states during Thinyan holiday from 8th to 17th April. The lists of visitors who visited without staying at the hotels and guest houses are not collected. The number of visitors will be increased up to 3 times if we make list of them.”

According to the lists, over 27,000 visitors to Pyin Oo Lwin, over 46,000 to Bagan, almost 10,000 to Inlay, over 22,000 to Kalaw and Taung Gyi, around 28,000 to 30,000 to Nga Pali, over 40,000 to Chaung Tahr and over 34,00 to Ngwe Saung visited respectively.
