Thingyan Dance Competition: 20 dance troupes participate in competition at MOPF

The Ministry of Planning and Finance organized traditional Yein Dance Competition to commemorate the 1384 ME Myanmar traditional Thingyan festival on 6th April. Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein enjoyed the competition, together with Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Win and Daw ThanThan Lin.The competition was held in accordance with the COVID-19 health instructions published by the Ministry of Health.The traditional Myanmar Thingyan festival is use to celebrat ejoyously by splashing water each other.

A total of (20) Yein dance groups representing the Ministry Office and the departments under the Ministry participated in the Thingyan Yein Dance Competition.In addition, the Ministry office and the departments under the ministry served Thingyan foods  to the guests at their pandals.

Later, the Deputy Prime Minister and party cheered the competition together with the staff.The 1st prize went to the Customs Department, 2nd prize to the Internal Revenue Department and 3rd prize to the Ministry Office (Office No. 26), the 4th prize to the Budget Department and the 5th prize to the Department of Project Monitoring and Progress Reporting.

The rest of the departments were awarded the consolation prizes.The ministry organizes the Thingyan dance competition aiming to cherish and preserve the Myanmar cultural customs, to participate happily in a seasonal festival,to usher in the Myanmar New Year and to serve the national duties with strenuous efforts in unity.
