Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recently visited the Xingu National Park in the Amazon, where he met with the esteemed Indigenous leader, Chief.

During this visit, The Chief expressed his concerns about the government's plan to extract oil near the Amazon delta, highlighting potential environmental and spiritual risks. In response, President Lula acknowledged that his administration has "much to do" for Indigenous peoples, emphasizing ongoing efforts such as expelling land invaders and recognizing new Indigenous territories.
