The Thai-Cambodia Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting reaffirmed 13 ceasefire agreements from a previous General Border Committee (GBC) session. Cambodia endorsed three of four new Thai proposals: joint humanitarian mine clearance, cooperation against transnational crime such as call center scams, and the creation of a Coordination Group and Local Border Committee to resolve local issues.
Phnom Penh rejected talks on violations of the 2000 border MoU, citing it as outside the RBC’s mandate and recommending the Joint Boundary Committee instead. Thailand said it would raise the matter at the GBC.
