Thailand Briefs Diplomats on Border Tensions

Thailand’s Foreign Ministry on Monday briefed foreign diplomats and international organizations on the Thai-Cambodian border situation. Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa called on Cambodia to engage in sincere, peaceful negotiations and to stop “distorted information attacks,” stressing that Thailand did not initiate the conflict.

Maris emphasized Thailand’s strict adherence to the agreement and urged Cambodia to follow suit. Maris reiterated Thailand’s commitment to peaceful, bilateral resolution, stating it consistently upholds peace, the ASEAN Charter, and the UN Charter.
