Thai SEA Games: 10 sports shifted from Hat Yai to Bangkok & Chonburi

Just six days before the opening ceremony, Thailand’s government relocated 10 SEA Games sports from flood-affected Hat Yai to venues in Bangkok and Chonburi. Minister of Tourism and Sports confirmed the shift for the games, running from December 9th to 20th, anticipating the events will boost the economy by over 15 billion baht.

The Sports Authority of Thailand Governor declared the preparations are “100% ready,” with accommodation finalized and focus now on promotion. An additional 10,000 seats were released on December 3rd for the December 9th opening ceremony at Rajamangala Stadium.
