Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stated, in his request for royal endorsement of the House dissolution, that allowing the situation to continue would lead to further political instability, undermine international confidence and negatively affect the economy.

Anutin explained that his minority coalition of several political parties has not held a majority in the House of Representatives during a period when the country faces numerous challenges and uncertainties on multiple fronts. Therefore, he stated that the appropriate solution is to dissolve the House of Representatives and hold a new general election, so that a stable majority government with a legitimate mandate may be formed to ensure smooth governance.
