Thousands of Thai mourners, all dressed in black, queue up for hours to pay their respects to the late Queen Mother Sirikit who is lying in state inside the throne hall of Bangkok's Grand Palace.

The former queen’s body will lie in state at the seat of the Thai royalty for one year before cremation. Former Queen Sirikit, the mother of King Vajiralongkorn and wife of the nation's longest-reigning monarch, died at age 93 on October 24. One mourner told, "Her Majesty is like a second mother, a mother of the Thai people”.
