




The terrorists are carrying out acts of violence in various ways to disrupt stability and the rule of law of the country, creating fear and panic among civilians.
These violent actions include the destruction of roads and bridges, attacks with heavy weapons and bombs in neighborhoods, villages, and departmental buildings, as well as assaults on civilian vehicles such as cargo trucks, passenger vehicles, and civilian transport. They are also planting and detonating landmines.
In one such incident, near the Panapnge Village, Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, at around 2:00 PM on 18th February, terrorists planted a landmine, targeting a civilian vehicle. The vehicle, a Light Truck, was traveling from Nyaung Pin Gwin Village in Tanintharyi Township towards Myeik, carrying innocent civilians. As the vehicle approached the vicinity of Panapnge Village, it was struck by the landmine planted by the terrorists, injuring nine people, including one man, eight women, and several children.
The injured were immediately transported to the Myeik People's Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment. Security forces have been continuing mine clearance operations and other necessary security measures along the route, in collaboration with local civilians, to ensure the safe travel of passengers and provide increased security in the area.
