Terrorist Incident: Railway damaged due to mines planted by insurgents

The railway at the mile post No. 124/14-13 between the TheinSeit and DonnWun Station in Thaton Township on the Bago-Mawlamyaing railroad was damaged by mines planted by insurgents at about 9:30 pm on May 20.

Security forces checked the scene at 5:45 pm on May 21 and found out that there were four points on the railway damaged due to the mines. The officials and staff from the Myanma Railway closed the railway for repair at 6:30 am. After the repair works, the railway was reopened at 10:14 am. The damage results in trains delay.
