Three passenger coaches, along with the engine room, derailed on Wednesday morning due to a damaged rail track caused by a mine attack orchestrated by KNLA and PDF terrorists between Kyauktaga and Peinzaloat Stations, near Bridge Nos. 146 and 147 at mile post No. 104/1 - 103/24.

The incident has resulted in the suspension of three other passenger trains, leaving about 900 passengers stranded. Security forces are implementing necessary security measures, while Myanmar Railway staff are engaged in repairing the damaged rail track and the concrete floor of the bridge, as well as replacing the concrete sleepers.

Arrangements have been made to assist stranded passengers in reaching their destinations. Additionally, passenger trains departing from Yangon and Mandalay have been canceled.
