Technological Advancement: EV buses assembling & machines repair at Paper Mill

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than toured the Daewoo Bus Manufacturing Workshop in Htaukkyant, Mingaladon Township, Yangon Region on Sunday, where he observed the assembly process of Daewoo buses. During the visit, the Union Minister underscored the government's commitment to promoting electric vehicles (EVs) by outlining supportive policies and urging speedy implementation of EV assembly.

He also emphasized the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and the establishment of charging infrastructure for EVs in accordance with regulations. Later in the day, Dr. Charlie Than inspected a Paper Mill in Yeni, Bago Region, focusing on machinery maintenance.

He instructed efforts towards prioritizing the repair of small-scale pulp manufacturing machines, with plans to utilize agricultural waste, such as straw, to produce 3 to 5 tons of pulp per day initially, scaling up to 10 tons daily. Additionally, he outlined plans for the revival of a 20-ton Cardboard Factory and stressed the importance of maintaining machinery for spare parts production.

The Union Minister also highlighted the necessity of workshops and training programs to facilitate access to modern technologies and enhance industry knowledge.
