Tazaungdine Lighting Festival: Maravijaya Buddha Image packed with the crowd of pilgrims

Tazaungdine lighting festival at Maravijaya Buddha Image the tallest of its kind globally and situated in the Buddha Park of Dakkhinathiri Township in Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw has been commenced as of the evening on 25th November with the throng of pilgrims from various regions of the country.

After conducting necessary security measures for the security of the pilgrims participated in the Tazaungdine lighting festival in front of the entrance, the members of Sangha, persons with disabilities and older persons were conveyed to the flatform of the Buddha Image with small vehicles.

The pilgrims pleasantly paid homage to the Buddha Image and offered flowers, water and lamps, 9,000 oil lamps, uninterrupted reciting of Pathana Dhamma discourses, reciting religious verses by the Wut Associations and the whole ground of the Buddha Park is overwhelming with the sounds of Dhamma.

Moreover, at the designated places in the compound, the fireworks setting off, launching lighting and ornamenting hot balloons, light of colorful ornamental lights can be delightful. The shop stalls of MSMEs local products including foodstuff and commodities and Myanmar traditional snacks shops and fun fairs for the children are included.

The Tazaungdaing light festival of the Maravijaya Buddha Image will be held for three days from November 25th to 27th. The weaving of non-stale robe with 9 looms will be begun at nightfall of 26th November at water fountain flatform of the Buddha Image and the weaved robe will be donated to the Buddha Image at the dawn of November 27th.
