Tazaungdaing Hot-Air Balloon Festival: Crowd of participants enjoy the festival in Taunggyi

Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Hot-Air Balloon Festival which commenced on November 21st is teeming with the festive comers from far and near. On the second day of the festival on November 22nd, participants released 7 hot air balloons depicting two-legged animals and 3 balloons with four-legged animals.

At night, the entertainment program was staged with the performances of Shan ethnic singers with the accompaniment of modern music band. The was followed by the competition of hot-air balloons with the release of three 22-ft Nya Meegyi, two 25-ft balloons and four Nya Meegyi Sein Naban balloons.

A total of (63) nighttime hot air balloons and 63 daytime balloons will be launched in festive period. The daytime hot air balloon releasing competition will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and the nighttime balloon competition will be commenced from 7:00 pm on wards.

Tazaungdaing Festival is a popular festival held annually across Myanmar in the month of Tazaungmone which falls on the 8th month on Myanmar calendar.
