






The Mon State Taxation Supporting Group held its work coordination meeting (1/2026) at the Mon State Government Office on Tuesday.
Group Chairman and Chief Minister U Aung Win Than attended the meeting and made a speech. He urged relevant sectors to work together to fully identify and collect taxes due, prevent tax evasion and increase state revenue and tax shares. He also called for continued cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of state tasks and full collection of taxes.
The Group Joint Secretary, Head of State Revenue Department then reviewed tax collection performance for fiscal year 2025-2026 and measures to exceed the 2026-2027 target. The Secretary of the Taxation Supporting Group, the State Minister for Planning, Economy and Finance, also reported on tax collection, followed by discussions on sector-wise tax issues by state and township officials. Mon State collected over 45.589 billion kyats in taxes in 2025-2026 fiscal year, achieving 128 percent of the target, it’s reported.
