For the promotion of electric vehicle (EV) usage in Myanmar, the Steering Committee on National Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries is implementing a pilot project that involves importing EVs and constructing charging stations.
Due to their lightweight body structure, EVs are less prone to tipping over during acceleration and turning, due to the Earth's gravity. Additionally, EVs cause less wear and tear on car tires, resulting in reduced maintenance costs.

Moreover, the application of advanced electro-technologies eliminates the need for expensive fuels and engine oils. To facilitate the quick recharging of EVs, charging stations are being constructed to provide enough energy supply.

Furthermore, there is an increase in the import of charging machines and EVs. To encourage the domestic use of EVs, tax exemptions are being granted for EVs and chargers arriving at Yangon Port, Htee Tan Port in Yangon, and the Muse 105-mile trade zone.

This tax incentive aims to facilitate the widespread adoption of EVs in Myanmar, following international trends.
