At Tattoo Week areola tattoos for cancer survivors

Breast cancer survivors received free tattoos to restore the appearance of their breast areola during Tattoo Week in Sao Paulo Friday. A Total of 200 women will receive the procedure as part of the campaign to celebrate "Pink October," breast cancer awareness.

Ana Savoy coordinates a group of 50 volunteers that operate throughout Brazil to restore the appearance of an areola using a colored pigment on the skin, giving a more natural appearance to women who have had a mastectomy. Tattoo week brings together 3,500 tattoo artists and piercers which according to organizers is the largest such event in the world.
