Talk on Media toxics: MOI UM conducted talk on Media toxics and Media Role

Union Minister of the Ministry of Information U Maung Maung Ohn gave a discussion to the trainees on the topic of preventing danger of toxic media and the Media role in the Nation Building at Civil Service Academy (Lower Myanmar) in the morning on Monday.

First, the video clip on Preventing Danger of Toxic Media and the Media Role in the Nation Building was screened.

After that, the Union Minister discussed that as the present time is an era of technological development, the trainees of the civil service personnel need to keep in touch with the times.As the saying goes, there is no burden of great responsibility for the competent person, it’s needed to make efforts to be the good civil servants who are treasurable by the people and earn the trust.

In the digital age, media and information literacy is an essential mechanism to combat misinformation, and for some young people due to the shortcoming ability to check on false information, they are being seduced by false information.

For the ministry, the fake news and false information are being immediately responded through the state-owned media, as well as several press conferences are being conducted by meeting with local and international medias.

The Union Minister also pointed out that the Defense of the country is the cause of the country. For the independence and sovereignty, serving military duty is the responsibility for every citizen. Regarding with the public military service, the rumors and anxiety are prevailing among the people.

As every citizen is responsible to protect the disintegration of the Union, disintegration of the national solidarity and the perpetuation of the sovereignty, those need to be trained of military skills and to serve the military duty for the Defense of the country.

In every democracy country, people have to serve military duty under the military service law etc. After that, the Union Minister handed 5 sets of MRTV DTH satellites dish and 100 sets of DVB T2 Set Top Box through a lottery, and the trainees were cordially greeted.
