Taking temporary monkhood: MoC Union Minister attended the ceremony

The ceremony of 12th collective temporary entering into the order of Buddhist monk, novice and nun of the personnel and family members under the Ministry of Construction was held at the Tejacakki Kamathan Yeiktha monastery in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw on 1st and 2nd April.

As the first part of the ceremony, 44 temporary monks, 7 novices and 44 nuns of personnel and family members entered into the Order of Buddhist monk, novice and nun at the Tejacakki Kamathana Yeiktha monastery on April 1st.

As the second part of ceremony, in the morning on 2nd April, a total of 126 temporary monks, novices and nuns were offered offertories by the Union Minister for construction U Myo Thant and wife, Deputy Minister U Win Pe and wife and senior officials and their wives.

According to the agenda of the ceremony, the congregation led by the Union Minister and wife observed five precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw of Tejacakki Kamathana Yeiktha monastery and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Next, the Union Minister and wife, deputy minister and wife and senior officials and their wives offered the offertories to the members of Sangha, took the sermon delivered by the presiding Sayadaw of Tejacakki Kamathana Yeiktha monastery and shared the merits gained.

Afterward, the Union Minister and wife deputy minister and wife and senior officials and their wives offered ‘Soon’ (Day Meal) to the members of Sangha and the catered the invited guests with the foods.
