Taekwondo Competition: 2023 Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Competition opened

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Competition jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs was held at Wunnatheiddi stadium (A) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 7th November.
The opening ceremony was attended by Members of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Htan, Dr. Ba Shwe, U Shwe Kyein, U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, deputy ministers, departmental officials, officials from the Myanmar Taekwondo Federation, coaches from the participating teams and athletes.
At the ceremony, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan clarified the objectives of organizing Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Competition and said it is the time when the state is promoting Myanmar sports to the best of its ability, urging athletes to show their skills and win their respective states and regions with the purest sports spirit and strive to become outstanding athletes who can be trusted by the country through inter-state and region competitions.
Next, the athletes who will compete in the Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Competition took the four sports oaths. Then, the SAC members, Union ministers and officials greeted the coaches of the teams, athletes and judge members and enjoyed the single attack (men/women) competition as the first day event.
A total of 280 athletes from fifteen teams of men and fifteen teams of women will compete in 2023 Inter-State/Region Taekwondo (Men/Women) competitions. It will be held from 7th to 11th November at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium (A) in Nay Pyi Taw and anyone interested in Taekwondo may come and watch the events free of charge.
