The local authority in Morocco’s Bouznika, in partnership with one of the local “wheelers” associations, is organising a Tabourida festival from July 23rd to 29th to celebrate Throne Day. It is an opportunity to create a date for lovers of horses and gunpowder, since the Art of Tabourida was included in UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage.
Tabourida is a word derived from the gunpowder that the horsemen release when they reach the finish line, which chronicles the battles that the Moroccans fought to defeat the foreign colonialists, and also shows an aspect of the celebrations that took place. It was held by warriors after every victory.
