Türkiye celebrates National Teachers’ Day

Turkiye on November 24 celebrated the national Teachers’ Day, which marks the day Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of Turkish Republic, was given the title of “Head Teacher” in 1928. Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, accompanied by teachers representing all 81 provinces, visited Anitkabir, Ataturk’s mausoleum in the capital Ankara.

The ceremony began with a solemn moment of silence, followed by the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. Minister Tekin laid a wreath at Ataturk’s mausoleum and then signed the Anitkabir Honor Book. In his message, Minister Tekin emphasized the lasting impact of Ataturk’s vision on Turkiye’s educational journey.
