Türkiye celebrates 103rd anniversary of Victory Day

Türkiye celebrates 103rd anniversary of Victory Day on Saturday. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on the occasion of 30 August Victory Day.

Following the ceremony, President Erdoğan signed the Anıtkabir memorial book, writing: “In the face of plans to drag region into instability, the state is taking every necessary measure to safeguard its security and the peace of its citizens.” The victory of Aug. 30, 1922, symbolizes the successful conclusion of the military phase of the War of Independence that led to the establishment of the modern Republic of Türkiye.
