Top officials from Türkiye and Indonesia met in the capital Ankara on Friday for a high-level “2+2” joint foreign and defence ministers meeting, focusing on deepening industrial cooperation and addressing volatile regional shifts in the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific.

A primary focus of the talks was the evolving situation in Syria and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that Türkiye expects the YPG/ SDF to immediately fulfil its obligations under the March 10, 2025 agreement, which outlines the group’s integration into Syrian state institutions.
