Syria's new leader meets Jordanian FM in Damascus

Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Damascus for talks. This marks the first visit by a senior Jordanian official to Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad.

During the meeting, Safadi expressed Jordan's support for Syria’s reconstruction and discussed potential areas of cooperation, including trade, border management, aid, electricity connections, and security.

The visit underscores the continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries as they explore ways to strengthen ties following a period of political upheaval in Syria.
