Syrian and Lebanese Officials Meet to Advance Border Agreement

Syrian Interim President Ahmed Al-Sharaa met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in Damascus on Monday, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation.The visit, led by a Lebanese ministerial delegation, focused on implementing a border agreement signed on March 28 in Saudi Arabia.

The agreement addresses land and maritime boundary demarcation and aims to improve coordination on border management.Both sides agreed to establish a joint ministerial committee to oversee the agreement’s implementation, with plans to enhance monitoring and regulate border crossings. The meeting marks the most senior-level engagement between the two countries in recent years.
