Symposium on Metrology: China-Myanmar Cooperation Symposium on Metrology

Organized by the Department of Research and Innovation, the National Standards and Quality Department, the National Institute of Metrology (Myanmar), the China-Myanmar Cooperation Symposium on Metrology was opened at Melia Hotel in Yangon on Thursday.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw gave a speech. Myanmar representatives discussed standardization services of the Myanmar’s national quality infrastructure and the National Institute of Metrology (Myanmar) and Chinese experts discussed Myanmar-China joint research works, dimensional metrology, Temperature Metrology and the needs of Metrology for Industrial Products.

The stakeholders made a round table discussion with the topic on “Ways to support industry with Metrology”. The Union Minister together with officials visited University of Computer Studies (Yangon) and met Rector, Pro-rector, faculty members and staff.

At the meeting, the Union Minister gave instructions on coordinating the needs of the University of Computer Studies (Yangon) to become an international standard research-based university, teaching and learning, making researches in cooperation with international organizations, conducting refresher courses on capacity building for teachers, management and administration, beautifying of the University and creating a good teaching and learning environment.

Later, the Union Minister and party observed Robotics Programming Knowledge Sharing Seminar in cooperation with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ERTI) of Korea and also viewed around university library, research works, basic infrastructures and construction of dormitories and fulfilled the requirements.
