Sustainable Marine Industry: MOALI Union Minister tours in Tanintharyi Region

Efforts are being made for development of marine products in Tanintharyi Region.
On 15th March, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, together with Chief Minister U Myat Ko and officials, visited Pahtaw Village in Kyunsu Township and observed the breeding of prawns at Pyay Phyo Tun International Company.
They also inspected the implementation of solar-power pumping system at Pahtaw Dam which will facilitate the operation of Cold Storage Factory and Palm Oil Mill as well as power supply to the locals. They also inspected prawn and soft-shell crab breeding, production of value-added marine products, diagnosing fish and prawn diseases and laboratory works.
During the meeting with officials from respective companies, the Union Minister instructed for sustainable development of marine industry, utilizing of land in line with the existing farm law, environmental conservation and ensuring the set standard for export items.
