











Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, together with officials, arrived at the Myanmar Rowing Federation Training Camp in Yangon on Saturday. They warmly greeted the rowing athletes and coaches for western boat, traditional boat and canoe/kayak who are undergoing training to compete in the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games to be held in Thailand from 9th to 20th December.
He urged them to strive to achieve good records, upholding good morale and discipline and to try their best to achieve success. He also inspected the dining hall, boats storage facility, dormitories.
Next, the Union Minister and party visited the Myanmar Sailing Federation training camp and oversaw the athletes training.
Afterwards, the Union Minister visited the Sanchaung Padoma Stadium and instructed for greening works in the facility. They also inspected Wushu Training Camp and Badminton Court on Kyone Gyi Road, and encouraged the athletes.
On arrival at the Aung San Sports Stadium in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, the Union Minister met with the Chairman, Vice Chairman and officials of the Myanmar Karate Federation, Myanmar Billiards and Snooker Federation, and Myanmar Traditional Sports Federation.
He observed the athletes’ training and encouraged them to work hard to win medals at the upcoming SEA Games. He later inspected the Aung San Sports Complex and the indoor stadium and met with former national track and field athletes. They then proceeded to the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon) cafeteria, and had lunch together with the trainees.
At the swimming pool in the Dagon Myothit (North), the Union Minister inspected the construction of a two-story auditorium with a capacity of 450 spectators, and the maintenance of the swimming pool. They then visited the Myanmar Shooting Sports Federation training camp, where viewed the athletes undergoing training.
He then visited the Myanmar Paralympic Federation and met with athletes from 12 sports disciplines who were camped for the 13th ASEAN Paralympic Games, encouraging them to continue their efforts to bring honor to the country. He also inspected the clinics, canteens and the repair of the synthetic track in the Paralympic Athletics Sports Stadium.
At the Myanmar Martial Arts Academy of the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation, the Union Minister and party enjoyed the performances of selected athletes and inspected the competition equipment on display.
At the Myanmar Cricket Federation training ground in Shwe Panglong, oversaw the training process of athletes who will compete in the upcoming SEA Games. The also inspected the training process at the Sports and Physical Education Institute (Yangon) and the Gymnastics Stadium.
At the Myanmar Basketball Federation, the Union Minister met with the officials, and discussed that efforts should be made to improve the height of the selected athletes and to raise the standard of basketball.
