





Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met with administrators, coaches and the Ministry's representative athletes who are preparing for the upcoming 2024 Fifth National Sports Festival at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
The meeting commenced with the screening of video clips highlighting the National Sports Festival, followed by the Union Minister’s speech. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister emphasized the ministry's participation in six sports and urged all athletes to compete with true sportsmanship during their competitions.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and other concerned officials inspected the display of sports uniforms, training materials, weekly meal plans, medical equipment and competition gear. The Union Minister also offered encouragement to the athletes and provided guidance on their needs.
The National Sports Festival aspires to cultivate health and strength across the nation, foster unity among its citizens and elevate the country's pride. Both the opening and closing ceremonies are set to be conducted on a grand scale as a national level.
At the upcoming 2024 Fifth National Sports Festival, more than 100 athletes from the Ministry of Information will compete in various sports including golf (freestyle), SepakTakraw, men’s football, tracks and fields, volleyball and futsal.
