Support for Sports: Cash rewards for the winning athletes and dutiful staff

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs hosted a ceremony at WunnaTheikdhi Stadium (C) in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday to honor its medal-winning athletes and staff who participated in the 2024 Fifth National Sports Festival.

Union Minister U Min Thein Zan attended the ceremony and gave an opening speech. Speaking at the ceremony, the Union Minister emphasized the Ministry's support, including recruitment, accommodation, food, training uniforms and monthly stipends during the camp period.

He also urged the athletes to aim for success in the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games and other international competitions. He also commended the staff involved in organizing the Festival and encouraged to continue serving the duties with unity and dedication to enhance the Ministry's honor.

Then, the cash of honor were awarded to the medal-winning athletes, staff and coaches for their dedication. The Ministry representing sports team secured second place by winning 12 gold, 7 silver, and 9 bronze medals in track and field, SepakTakraw, and volleyball.
