





State Ovadacriya Shwe Kyin Nikaya Sangha Raja Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Venerable Sitagu Sayadaw made donation of 100 million kyats for rehabilitation efforts in flood affected areas in Laymyethna Township of Ayeyawady Region.
The donation ceremony was held at the Sitagu Buddhist University (Yangon) in Dagon Myo Thit (North) on September 18th. The donated fund was handed over by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, in which Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw accepted the cash donation and presented the certificate of honour in return.
The Venerable Sitagu Sayadaw is carrying out the missionary work both domestically and internationally to promote Buddhism and the flourishing of the Sasana. The Sayadaw also established the Sitagu Ayudana Hospital on Sagaing Hill on March 10th, 1990, and later expanded the services across various regions and states, reaching a total of 44 facilities.
These hospitals have been providing care to over two million eye related patients and have restored sight loss to approximately 500,000 individuals. Furthermore, the Sayadaw has set a target of raising 5 billion kyats health trust fund to support eye patients. Donors wishing to contribute to this initiative can make donations of any amount at the Sitagu Cakkhudana Eye Hospital located in North Dagon Township, Yangon Region.
