Super Specialty Program: Medical specialists team gave medical Services in Sittwe

The Ministry of Health sent the medical specialty teams to Mocha Cyclone hit Rakhine  State since the preparedness period prior to the hitting of storm and the aftermath of storm when the emergency response and rehabilitation were carried out.

Moreover, Under the super specialty tour program of professors and specialists from Yangon and Mandalay General Hospitals, health care services were provided for the residents in regions and states and the monthly tours to Rakine State has been carrying out.

The Super Specialty Medical Team comprised of professors and specialists relating to the Cardiologist, Gastro-enterologist, Neurologist, Hematologist, Hepatologist, Orthopedic surgeon from Yangon Geneal Hospital and 500-bed Yangon Specialty Hospital took the field medical tour to Sittwe Township of Rakhine State from 19th to 20th August together with the specialists, health personnel, local resident retired medical doctors and gave the Super Specialty medical Services to the patients.

During the two days tour, a total of 871 patients from 10 townships of Rakhine State including Sittwe, Ponna Gyun, Pauktaw, Rathedaung, Mrauk-U, Kyauktaw, Min Byar, Myay Pon, Maungtaw, Buthidaung.

Among the patients, Echocardiography for 31 patients, Upper GI Endoscopy or Gastroscopy also known as (OGDS) for 14 patients, Colonoscopy for 2, viscosupplementation treatment for 5, CT scan for 9, Radiography for 71, laboratory test for 168, Ultransound scan for 29, examination with ECG for 124 patients were carried out and the 6 patients who need further treatments for their heart disease were transferred to Yangon General Hospital and one patient who need Thoracic treatment was also transferred to the 500-bed Yangon Specialty Hospital.
