Summit set to launch European Political Community

Leaders from more than 40 countries will gather this week in Prague, Czech Republic to launch a "European Political Community" aimed at boosting security and economic prosperity across the continent, in spite of critics claims that the new forum is an attempt to put the brakes on European Union enlargement.

The meeting in the Czech capital Prague was instigated by French President Emmanuel Macron and backed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The inaugural European Political Community summit at Prague Castle will begin with an opening ceremony, followed by a series of meetings where leaders will discuss the key challenges Europe faces; security, energy, climate, the dire economic situation, and migration.
