Summer Sports: Basic Wushu Training Concluded

The Summer Wushu Basic Training Course for children concluded on Tuesday.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Naing Ngan Lin.

Under the guideline of Department of Sports and Physical Education, Myanmar Wushu Federation (MWF) organized the basic training course for children from 1st March to 7th April.

To cultivate the new generation for the future, this kind of basic course are essential, the Secretary General of MWF said.

Secretary General, Myanmar Wushu Federation, Swe Swe Thant said “In this summer basic Wushu training, we accepted the children of age starting from 5. But kids who are just 3 or 4 years old also came with interest in Wushu. At such time, building upon their interest to do some sports, we let them do some exercises they can, in order to nurture their passion on sport.”

A total of 521 Basic Education Students from 15 townships participated in this summer course.

Student, Kaung Sithu Kyaw said “I like Wushu and happy to attend this course.  Wushu is good for health and also for the country.”

Student, L Juu San said “I’m happy that I got new friends. And playing Wushu let us become more outstanding. And I believe doing some kind of sport makes people more superior both physically and mentally.”

The advance training course is set to be opened on 22nd April and there will be the series of Wushu competition at the International Olympic Day Run in June.
