




Mary Chapman School for the Deaf was opened a summer cooking course for the first time starting from March through the end of May.
During summer holidays, the culinary art that is the primary role of the socio economic community was taught from the basics for the children from the Mary Chapman School for the Deaf.
Jetnet, In charge, cooking course, said " Our children learn from the basics in everything. We were taught starting from the basic methods on how to peel the onions and how to handle the knife. Today we cooked pork, sweet and sour. We explained to them the ingredients with their signs. Ordinary people can follow the teaching easily what I am talking about but they cannot. So, firstly I introduce them with the ingredients. There are 5 males and over 10 females attending the course. "
Zar Zar Soe, In charge, cooking course, said " First, we teach them through signs. We peel the onions easily at home but here we teach how to peel them systematically so that your hands don't bleed. Pork kebab, chicken kebab, sweet and sour pork, Scrape fish ball, fish curry, Roselle leaf syrup, lettuce salad and so on will be taught at the course."
A total of 15 students attended the cooking course and 10 types of dishes were taught. The duration of the course is about three months.
