Summer basketball challenge: U-25 men and womensummer basketball challenge

The U-25 men and women 2023 summer basketball challenge organized by Myanmar Basketball Federation was commenced at Thuwunna National Stadium (1), Yangon on 24th May. 

In the tournament, the U-25 basketball teams across the country were invited and 29 teams of men and 7 teams of women are participating in the competition.

The Joint-Secretary of Basketball Referees of Myanmar Basketball Federation said that this competition is organized to turn out the new generation of athletes.

Joint-Secretary, Basketball Referees (MBF), Win Naing said "This is the annual event of summer challenge men and women basketball. This time the tournament is with the age limit but in the past, the tournaments were organized the open and age limit competition. The main objective is to conduct the sport activities of the youth and turn out the new generation athletes."

As it’s organized by inviting the basketball teams across the country, the teams from outside Yangon are provided with one hundred thousand Kyats of cash assistance and two hundred thousand kyats of subsistence allowance.

By organizing such competitions, the national selections will turn out, said, a basketball player Nyein Kaung Myat.

Player, Nyein Kaung Myat said "I believe the basketball sport will improve by organizing such tournaments. The basketball sport needs the constant training with schedule or the intensive training in the camp."

The 2023 summer basketball challenge will take place for 10 days from 24th May to 2nd June. The cash prizes are 6 hundred thousand Kyats for first prize, 4 hundred thousand Kyats for second and 3 hundred thousand Kyats for third prize for men and 5 hundred thousand Kyats for first prize, 3 hundred thousand Kyats for second and 2 hundred thousand Kyats for third prize for women.
