Successful Election: Honorary dinner held for International Election Observers

An honorary dinner was held on Sunday, at Jasmine Nay Pyi Taw Hotel to welcome international election observers who monitored Phase (1) of Myanmar’s 2025 multi-party democratic general election.

Union Election Commission Chairman U Than Soe attended the event, and made welcoming speech.

The Commission Chairman said the completion of Phase (1) of the election marked an important milestone, emphasizing that elections are not only about choosing leaders, but also about promoting democratic values such as participation, freedom, fairness, transparency, and accountability. He expressed sincere thanks, on behalf of the government and people of Myanmar, to the international observers for their impartial monitoring, saying their presence helped strengthen trust in the election process. He also recognized the efforts of election staff, security personnel, political parties, civil society groups, and voters.

The Chairman said the Commission looks forward to receiving constructive observations and recommendations from the observers to support the development of a disciplined and genuine multi-party democracy. After the speech, attendees were served with dinner, and enjoyed traditional Myanmar cultural performances.
