Studying And Training: Institute Of Sports & Physical Edu. Started New Academic Year

Institute of Sports and Physical Education of Yangon started its 2019-2020 Academic Year on Monday.

Institute of Sports and Physical Education of Yangon has been operated since 1997 to nurture the trainees to turn out national outstanding players and to promote the country’s sport standards. The institute accepted starting from Grade- 5 students for Gymnastics, Wushu, and Sailing while the students from Grade 8 to 10 are accepted for the remaining sports. The institute will teach the trainees under the same curriculum of the public schools and 23 sports will be trained.

Principal, Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon), Soe Aung said “We have plans to receive 540 trainees this year. Currently, we have chosen about 480 trainees so far. Now, We are also running to select trainees who meet with required qualifications. Most of the trainees are mainly selected from Yangon, Bago and Ayawaddy Regions and Rakhine State. Training and studying time are divided with the timetable.  Upon completion of this academic year, the outstanding trainees will go to the Gold camp at Nay Pyi Taw.”

Since the institute gives the lectures accordingly the timetable to be balanced between training and studying, trainees must have positive attitude and strong-minded person. The trainees expect to be shined in their passionate sports, and win many victories for the country.

Trainee, Football, May Thu Khaing said “It has been 4 years in here. Now I’m Grade-10 student. Since Grade-10 is the heavy step for life, I have to study the whole year to pass the exam despite the football training. I have many home and abroad experiences in playing football matches. I will try my best to become national selection in sport and pass the matriculation exam in education.”

Trainee, Football, Saw Naing Naing Htoo said “I just joined here this year. Since my hobby is playing football, I wanted to become a national selection in football sport. And I’m also a Grade-8 Student.  I’m very excited and ready to learn new experiences here.”

Both Male and Female football teams of Institute of Sports and Physical Education of Yangon are also participating in the regional football tournaments and gained a positive result.
