Study Tour: Myanmar delegation tours in Chongqing

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant met with the Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government on January 21st during their visit to China.

During the meeting, they discussed matters on cooperation in infrastructure development and construction sector. The two sides also exchanged views on urban development and exchange of modern technologies in road and bridge construction as well as the plans for multi-sectoral investment including the construction sector.

The delegation later visited the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce and met with the Director General and officials as well as the officials from Chongqing Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office, Urban Management Bureau and Housing and Commission of Housing and Rural and Urban Construction, and the entrepreneurs.

During the meeting, they discussed for prospects of cooperation in infrastructure development.

During their stay in Chongqing, the delegation visited Chongqing and Shenzhen and observed the infrastructure development projects including the construction of highways and bridges, landscape arrangements and pedestrian lanes in downtown roads and factories and workshops as well as the urban and housing construction sites. The delegation arrived back in Yangon on the 26th.
