







The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, participated in the ASEAN-China Week 2024 study tour.
This event, organized by the ASEAN-China Center and the Shanxi Provincial Government, showcased key destinations and businesses in Shanxi Province, China, from August 13 to 15. On August 13, the Union Minister and ASEAN delegation leaders visited the Tongtianxia scenic spot in Changzhi Township, which first opened in 2014.
The Union Minister also observed LED production with automobile system at Gaoke Huaye Group, manufacturing Victory brand cars at Chenggong Automobile, rare tree preservation and thrilling activities for visitors in Changzhi National Urban Wetland Park.
The Union Minister ended her study tour in Changzhi on August 14 and then visited Pingyao Ancient City, a World Heritage site in Shaanxi Province. The visit included a focus on long-term preservation efforts, a tour of the Confucius Temple, insights into Pingyao’s 19th and early 20th-century banking sector, and lacquer ware production and sales at the lacquer ware museum.
Later that evening, the Union Minister attended a cultural performance show aimed at enhancing understanding of Shanxi's history and culture. On August 15, the Union Minister left Pingyao for Taiyuan City.
During the tour, she explored the Qiao family's significant role in China's trade, banking, and restoration, observed modern production methods at Honghai Glass Industry, and examined vinegar production at Donghu Vinegar Park, including innovative uses in snacks.
On August 16, the Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister left Taiyuan for Yangon and was welcomed back by officials from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar.
